Our "Pichkaari Party" to celebrate Holi!!

The Holi Party for the kids of our Story Club was an absolute success! We started with the legend of the demon Holika and how she was vanquished. And boy did we celebrate the victory of good over evil!! The kids had come armed with their water guns....all colours, shapes, sizes. At the end of it all we were one happy bunch, drenched to the skin but with huge smiles plastered on our faces!!

Scrabble Champs!

Our scrabble contest went wonderfully well.......thanks to all the enthusiastic participation from kids aged 8 to 15 years!

The final match in both categories was well fought and a close finish. Hearty congratulations to all the winners. Gift vouchers were awarded to the first and second prize winners and all participants received certificates in addition to being gifted a 2 month free subscription to the Gulmohar Days Library!

Thank you to our teachers Ranji and Nisha for conducting the contest so smoothly!

Well done kids and hope to see you all use the library and become avid readers in the next few weeks! :)

Gear up for some fun saturdays at Gulmohar days this month! Announcing a Scrabble Competition for kids ages 8 years and above!

So your child thinks he/she has a way with words! Time to prove it and win a prize or two!

Let’s Scrabble!	7 – 12 years	13th to 17th Dec	4 to 5 pm	Word games, vocab. building and scrabble fun!
Fun n Fitness	4 – 12 years above	13th to 30th	4.00 to 5.00 pm	Fitness club for kids every Mon, Wed and Fri. only
Photography (basic course)	8 – 15 years	20th to 23rd Dec	11.00 am to 1.00 pm	Kids must bring their own cameras + charged battery
Photography ( advanced)	8 – 15 years	18th Dec.	9 to 12 pm	A one day outdoor session on popular demand. All kids from our previous basic course and those with working knowledge of cameras may attend
Story Writing and Illustration	8 to 15 years	20th to 24th Dec	4 to 5.30 pm	A perfect blend of art, creative writing and imaginative thinking for all those budding writers

Creative Writing Competition: Results!!

Hello everyone,

Congratulations to all the children who took part in the competition. The participants found the topics interesting and the contest challenging. We looked for writing that was fresh in ideas, clear in thought and well crafted.

One day photography workshop (advanced) in December

Hi everyone,

Pleased to announce a one-day Photography Workshop (advanced) in December.

This is for all the kids who joined us for our August Workshop and have been asking for more. And also for all kids who have a working knowledge of  manual cameras and are familiar with the basics of photography.

Please note details below:

Course Title: Photography workshop (advanced)

Date: 18th of December 2010, Saturday

Time: 10.00 am to 1.00 pm
AGE GROUP: 9 to 15 yrs
COURSE MENTOR: Ms. Richie Deaver

MATERIALS REQD: Children must bring their digital cameras from home for each of the sessions. Camera must have an empty memory card and fully charged battery. 

Venue: Gulmohar Days, Kalyani Nagar

As always we will accept only a limited number in our batch. Please do drop by at the earliest to pay the fee and register.
