Winter Workshops at Gulmohar Days

Workshops In December


Hi everyone!

We have some fun activities lined up for the kids in December. Do take a look at our schedule below. Please drop by to register your child for any of the workshops.

Clay Modelling Workshop: A two day workshop that will encourage kids to work with terracotta clay. We are so fortunate to have teachers from ADIPA, the Ceramic Design company mentor this workshop for our kids. Children will learn simple clay modelling techniques and each child will take home 2 to 3 items. Items will be baked and given to them. pls note details below:

Date: 21st and 22nd Dec ( Friday and Saturday)
Time: 10.30 am to 12.30 pm
Ages: 6 yrs and above


Montessori Math: A 5 day workshop that uses Montessori materials to introduce children to the decimal system, addition, odd and even numbers, lesser and greater than, and counting in 10's, 100's.

Date: 20th to 26th Dec.
time: 9.30 am to 10.30 am
ages: children presently studying in KG2 or UKG only
Mentor: Nandini Nair

Little Chefs! : A fun session that will get our little ones baking cookies! They will roll, cut, bake and sprinkle and will no doubt be thrilled to take their cookies home!

Date: 20th December
time: 11.30 am to 12.30 pm
ages: 2.5 to 3.5 years
Mentor: Devika Gugle Kanstiya

What's Cooking? (Group 1): A fabulously fun two hour session for kids ages 5 to 7 years. Our Junior Chefs will learn to make 2 types of wontons, roll , cut and bake different shaped cookies and learn to make a healthy juice/drink. We are happy to have Ms Kavita Amarnani, who has spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry mentor this workshop for us. All the goodies will go home in a box at the end of the session.

Time: 10.30 am to 12.30 pm
ages: 5 to 7 years

What's Cooking? ( Group 2): A session for kids ages 8 years and above that promises to be very inspiring! Our Junior Chefs will rustle up a healthy crunchy salad with dressing, learn to decorate cupcakes with icing using different techniques, and wrap and roll wontons in different styles. All the goodies will go home in a box at the end of the session. We are happy to have Ms Kavita Amarnani, who has spent over 20 years in the hospitality industry, mentor this workshop for us

ages: 8 years and above

Crafty Hands: A 5 day craft workshop for kids ages 3 to 5 years. Children will make Xmas mobiles, paint pots, make and paint fridge magnets and much more.

Date: 20th to 27th December
Time: 10. 30 am to 11.30 am
ages: 3 to 5 years
Mentors: Shashi Kedia and Snehal Govekar

Tell me a Story! : Who doesn't love a good story? A 5 day session that will introduce kids to stories from different countries and bring alive their culture and sensibilities. A creative session for kids ages 3 to 5.5 years.

Date: 20th to 27th December
Time: 4.30 to 5.30 pm
Ages: 3 to 5.5 years
Mentor: Anjani Krishnamurthy

Free Play: Free play hours will be 3 to 6.00 pm. Parents may sign up the kids for a span of 10 hours. children are free to use their hours as they wish during 3 to 6 pm on all days between 20th to 28th December 2012. (except Saturday and Sunday) Kids may spend their time reading, playing, colouring, painting etc. Free play charges are Rs 850 for 10 hours.

Ringing in the New Year!

The month of September saw some of our dear friends in the montessori celebrate Rosh Hashanah. We had a lovely celebration at the school with the children eating honeyed apples, cake and doing some fun craft as well. Thank you to our montessori moms Liat, Yafit and Miri for putting this together. Enjoy the pictures!

Gulmohar Days celebrated its Fifth Anniversary this september. Much gratitude and love to all of you who have suppoted us and been with us through these years. Thanking each and every one of you and blessings to all the children who have touched our lives!

Culture Corner

As a build up to Independence day celebrations in School, each child brought a symbol representing their state/county's tradition. An educative and informative morning, that saw the children exchange ideas and learn to respect the diversity in our class room.
